IE6 will not download exe files

When I try to download an .exe file from any site, the
dialog "File Download" shows. It says "Getting File
Information:"
It never gets the information and after some time it times
out with an error."The requested site is either
unavailable or cannot be found"
Other users in the same domain have no problems.
The machine runs XPsp1, IE6sp1.

Installed software includes OfficeXP, Visual Studio.Net,
Delphi

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link. But the only thing mentioned on the site is
uninstalling McAfee Safe & Sound. This application has never been on my
machine...

Anything else?
