IE6 stopped allowing .exe downloads

IE6 will no longer download .exe files. It used to!

As far as I know, I have not changed anything to prevent this download. The
only thing: IE6 has been updated by MS.

I've set my security settings to low, and still no download.

FireFox downloaded the .exe files just fine.

Ideas, please.

You really need to give more information if you expect help.
1. What error messages do you get? or
2. What indication do you see that tells you the "exe" files are not allowed?
3. What exactly have you done to try to fix this yourself?
4. What site(s) have you tried to download and "exe" file from?
5. What "exe" files were involved?
