IE6 vs Opera

A friend suggested I try Opera as an alternate browser which I did.. When I
first tried it
I was impressed with some of the features so went ahead and purchased it...
Mistake!!!!

Now, I have both IE6 and Opera installed but Opera is taking over. I have
tried to find a
way to make IE the default browser and only use Opera if I want to use it
for a specific
reason.. There doesn't appear to be a way to do this..

I even removed Opera (Add/Remove) but ended up with a problem in IE6 and OE6
where
links could not be accessed by clicking on the link..

I ended up reinstalling Opera but would either like to get rid of it without
affecting my
IE and OE settings or making IE the default browser..

Any suggestions?

TIA

Right click the IE icon, selct Properties > Programs and put a check in the
box "Internet Explorer should check..."
