IE6 uninstall??

My IE6 has been very, very slow in loading up. I have done all the usual
things like clearing cashe, etc but it is still painfully slow in initial
load or in opening a new window. Should I uninstall and reinstall, if so How?
I have looked at add/remove programs and that only allows it to be
deactivated - it does not actually uninstall. Where is the best place to get
the latest version?

Slow IE means very often spyware infection. You can start to loading several
spyware scanners like Microsoft AntiSpyware, Ad-Aware and Spybot.

First eliminate any spyware.

Thank you for the guidance. I already have Adaware installed and have run a
full scan and it found nothing so I am assuming it is not spyware.

I have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Beta Spyware product - it found
two items which are now removed. IE6 is still slow - should I reinstall?

PS should I now remove Adaware as I have the Microsoft one?

Reinstalling is not likely to help. Go to Tools | Internet Options and
click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet files section. In the popup
window click the option to delete all offline files. If you haven't done
this before this can take several minutes.
