IE6 unable to access certain links and pictures NOT the red X pro

Hi all...I know this has been brought up before but I am having a different
kind of problem using IE6 and not being able to display some pictures....

Using IE6, SP2 and Norton Internet Security 2005, here is the problem:

Certain web sites (example: www.hpshopping.com) if I click on a picture of
an item that I want to see more info or just a larger image of, the frame of
the new window will show up VERY briefly and then just disappear. Also
applies to certain links that would take you a different place within a
website. This is VERY frustrating in that only some websites are behaving
this way. I have tried disabling NIS 2005's as blocking (no use). I have
deleted cookies and temp internet file and history, still no effect.

SOMEBODY please help.....I have been through all of my Internet Settings and
still no use......AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

Thanks!

Hi Koby :)

Here are a few things you might try and see if it helps. However, often,
even when Norton is disabled, there are some of it's features that are still
operative, and can still cause interference.

Tools | Internet Options | Security
Highlight Internet and choose Custom Level.
Scroll down to Miscellaneous and enable "Access data sources across

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
