I am having toouble with IE6 in WinXP, so I tried to
install it again from windows downloads.
Durnng the install, it was halted and I get the message:
"The software you are installing has not passed windows
logo testing...The software will not be installed"
Whats up with that!
I really need to reinstall this - Any clues?

Thanks

You cannot reinstall IE that way. It is already part of xp and tightly
integrated.
Internet Explorer repair is not an option for the version that shipped with
the XP OS in a clean or full install.

It may be an option in and upgrade install from a win9x OS in add/remove
programs.

Unchecking IE in the add/remove components in XP does not uninstall IE, it
only deletes the IE icons.

You can reinstall IE using the following command line in the run dialog:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf

The XP cd may be needed for a re-install of IE.

( watch the word wrap, there is a space between 132 and % )
