IE6 Privacy Setting cannot be set to default

I'm running IE6 in WinME. I have problems surfing web on
the browser, and I notice that the privacy setting cannot
be set to default. Everytime I try to set it to default
and "apply" and click "ok", the next time I check on the
privacy, it is still in the 'Import" or Advanced" setting.
Can you please tell me how to fix this problem? I suspect
this may be one of the reason why I cannot surf internet.
Btw, I have no problem with the internet connection.

Hi,

Please be sure that this definitely NOT the reason for not
being able to surf the net.

There must be some other reason for your inability to
access the net. I could help you if you could give me a
clear explanation. Likewhat is the error that you get, etc.

It really does not make any difference setting your
default to Privacy. Anyways I am not sure if you can set
it to default, but i am POSITIVE that it has got nothing
to do with your problem.

Is this a customized version of IE or do you have a network
administaror
check to see if its customized by> check help about if there are any
letters after the version info,, tell the newgroup ..
Or perhaps you have some third party cookie program thats resetting
things,, some may concevable still reset even ifuninstalled.
