I have this same problem. don't have qhost...installed the hotfix...cleared
cookies,cache...etc. run spybot. have a firewall. still no geocities sites.
was wondering if this might work: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823386
.. any other suggestions? ie 6 has also been running very slowly...i have
since installed netscape and have no trouble accessing geocities sites and
am on a cable modem and the speed is noticably faster on netscape. this
seems to all have started after installing sp1...would it be worth trying to
unistall and reinstall ie 6? or just wait for another service pack???

I don't think that article applies.
Try turning off your firewall as a test. Post back whether that helps.
