IE6 & Macromedia Flashplayer

Hello

Can anyone please advise, I have windows 98SE with IE5.5 (now upgraded to
IE6). But I cannot install macromedia flash at all. I have checked the FAQs
and troubleshooting hints and tips on the Macromedia page. I have checked
computer maintenance and done all the necessary that was advised but still
no joy.
It installs shockwave player but will not install Flash player! I even tried
installing it from a magazine CD and the message says it was successfully
installed but it doesn't work. (Tried it on the Test page of Macromedia).
Any advise would be appreciated.
