ie6 error

i was having trouble downloading ie6 with that problem solved my ie6 is not
working correctly i was instructed to go to add/remove progams and fix ie6
when i tried to do that the following message came up:
ie6 repair
Internet Explorer 6 cannot be repaired due to following errors:
Version 5.50.4918.600 of the file WININET.DLL exists but the version needs
to be greater than 6.0.2800.1100. is there any way to fix this? Thanks
