IE6 does not work in win2000 prof

IE6 SP1 is installed on win2000 prof system. cannot open
another window with "open in new window" and when
using "javascript:open_win(.....)" an error report is
generated. This happens on every web page visited. Does
not happen on my win xp system. The error signature is
always AppName: iexplore.exe ModName: unknown.

I have reinstalled IE6 SP1 about 21 times now and the
problem still exists. I can't remove IE6 SP1 so I have
to keep on installing with replace choice.

Please someone help before I have to reinstall an entire
new operating system or throw this computer out the
window...

I have similar problem on IE6 browser, try download IEAK6
from windows update download... good luck
