IE6 does not print footer

I am using Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 with Windows 98. I am
observing no footers on printouts of Web pages. This difficulty did not
occur when I first used this version of Internet Explorer.

I have observed the following things.
-- The Footer format string (for example, "&u&b&d &t") is present in the
Page
Setup dialog box.
-- The footer is displayed when the Print Preview command is used.
-- The footer is not printed when the Print command is used.
-- The header and the Web page appear when the Print Preview and the Print
commands are used.
-- The footer cannot be printed after adjusting margins, retyping the
Footer format
string, changing the page size, changing the orientation, and
restoring printer
defaults.
-- A footer is displayed with a text document when the Notepad program is
used.
-- Uninstalling and then reinstalling the Internet Explorer program does
not allow
the footer to be printed.

I would appreciate information on the cause of this difficulty, and
suggestions for correcting it.

Have you tried to change the bottom margin in the printer's own settings
dialog, and not using IE's settings?
Some printers have a large non-printable area at the bottom of the page.
When you print a Web page to one of these printers, the footer text may be
cut off. Are the headers printed? Have you updated/reinstalled the latest
drivers for you printer from the manufacturer's web site?
