IE6 does not load only certain sites

Girish

Hi,

I am running WinXP Home edition with ie6. I am unable to
access certain sites like mail.yahoo.com, www.hotmail.com,
us.mcafee.com etc. But I am able to access various other
sites like www.netscape.net, www.symantec.com etc.
I have no firewall. My system32\drivers\etc\hosts does not
have these site. I ran the virus scan and it does not
detect any infection.

I ran a media recovery supplied by the computer co, and it
restored my C and D drives. But the problem persists.

I tried to access the sites from a diff PC, same ISP and i
am able to access. So it is not a problem with the ISP.

Getting frustrated. Please Help!!!

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
