IE6 Default to a page other than my home page.

A couple of days go I installed McAfee Internet Security
Suite Ver. 6.0. After the installation, I started
experiencing probles in accessint the internet. I noticed
that upon launch IE6 address bar started with my home page
address, but then quickly changed to a different address
and then would not open, it would always come back
with "page cannot be displayed".
I have run spybot, have contacted McAfee and been on the
phone with my internet service provider without any luck
in getting the problem resolved. I have been told by my
ISP that IE6 is corrupted and needs to be re-installed. I
have tried to download and it has not worked.
I am running WinXP with IE6 and SP1.
I have noticed that there are a number of individuals that
are experiencing the same problem and I am hoping someone
has come up with a fix and is willing to share it with me.
