IE6 Crashes on Launch every time for me. I am on Win2000
platform and when the windows error message dialog comes up
I get prompted see what data this error report contains:

Appname: Iexplore.exe
Appver 602800.1106
ModName: winshow.dll
Modver: 1.0.0.6
Offset 00005767

I've tried reinstalling and I have the latest build of
Win2000 and security patches. What the hell ? This is
messing me up big time as I need IE for several business uses.

you have been hijacked with cool web search. to open ie.
start,control panal,internet
connections,internet,advanced,uncheck'enable third party
browser extensions, apply.and change back later . and since
you are in advanced, uncheck both of the'enable install on
demand',apply. now download spybot at safer-networking.org
and update, scan on easy and clean out the junk. and
immunize and block bad pages,etc,etc,.

Cary,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions."

That should allow IE to work. Then Run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html It will remove this
coolwebsearch variant. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be
downloaded from another machine onto a floppy disk if necessary.

Search for and remove other malware and note the security tips at:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
