Does anyone know why ie 6.0 automatically closes itself
when accessing certain sites. I've encountered this
problem ever since upgrading to the new service pack 2.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jifern :)
Does anyone know why ie 6.0 automatically closes itself
when accessing certain sites. I've encountered this
problem ever since upgrading to the new service pack 2.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There have been numerous people who have experienced this problem after
installing the SP2. It only seems to happen with certain sites.

You might the following and see anything here helps:

First try disabling the SP2 popup blocker:

Go to IE/Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Pop-up blocker.

If you have a popup blocker installed, disable it and then try the sites
that are failing.

Then try the sites again. If still no joy, you might also try the
following:

You can try updating your scripting engine. The latest scripting engine can
be found at:

(98, ME, NT4.0) For 2000 and XP go to

with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Did you try the suggestion I gave to Jifern yet?

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please a open new post stating
all the facts or your particular problem, which version of Windows you have,
and the exact wording of any error messages you are getting.

Hope this helps
