When browsing with IE 6.0 I get the "Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close" it then gives
me a report that I can send to MS. When I look at the
report is refers to the MSVCRT.DLL file.
I tried all of the fixed and services packs listed on MS
site. ANy suggestions. My IE worked fine until this
week. I am unaware of any changes that may have occured
with my computer.
Thanks
Jim

Here is what seems to have worked for me! I offer it as a non guaranteed
solution. If there are problems with it would the experts please let me
know.

I used System File Checker to extract a new msvcrt.dll. From memory it came
from cab 55 or thereabouts. Then when I went back onto the internet Zapro
identified that IE6 was trying to update msvcrt.dll presumably to the latest
version. This I permitted and my problem seems to have been solved.

At the same time i had a problem with outlook express not starting because
MSOE.DLL could not be loaded. I don't know whether it is linked. I solved
that problem by uninstalling OE6. This automatically put me back to OE5
which is working ok so far. I now have the option to upgrade again to OE6
via windows update.

Hope this helps for some people.
