IE6 Broken After Installing Security Patch Dated 07/16/2003

Running NT4 SP6a. Installed the security patch dated
07/16/2003. Now IE6 opens a blank screen and nothing
works. Usually get a 'fatal exception' error on exit.
Outlook Exp 6 still works. Also get other "fatal
exception' errors on Explorer. Uninstalled IE6 and
reverted back to IE5.5 and works ok. Spent the afternoon
installing, reinstalling SP6a, etc, etc. Anyone heard of
this.

Email response is ok with me.

Thanks for any help,

Charles

Microsoft does not and will not send you emails about (security) updates
unless you've subscribed to a mail list (cf
http://microsoft.com/security/security_bulletins/decision.asp). And even
then, the secure message will never have an attachment.

You were one of many taken in by a recent, very craftily worded "spam scam".
If you look closely, the message will be from a bogus *@email.microsoft.com
address. For all intents and purposes, only *@microsoft.com is a valid MS
corporate address.

Update your anti-virus application's definitions *today* and follow up
immediately with a full system scan. You may need to use NT's version of
"System Restore" to recover completely (if not worse).

Best of luck.

You are correct, was from @email.micro......., but I went to
www.microsoft.com to get the update using windows update. I have seen on
other groups this has been a common problem for NT4 WS as the patch was only
tested on NT4 Server. WS support ended June 2003.
