IE6 and Outlook Express do not start connection to internet. (they do not
start PPPoE dialer). Firefox on the other hand has no problems.

I run Windows XP Home Editions SP2 on HP desktop.

Can anybody suggest what I can do to fix this problem?

Thank you,

Geo

Is this sudden, new behavior or an ongoing problem?

Check your settings at...

IE: Tools > Internet Options > Connections [> LAN > ...]

OE: Toolss > Accounts > [mail account(s)] > Properties > Connection > ...

Thank you for response.

It started after I cleaned out some virus.

I am not sure what I did, (I might have deleted something in the registry)
but changing settings in Connections do not help. Also, crating a new
connection did not help, though the new connection works if I force it to
connect manually or by starting FireFox.
Is there anything else that could be done?

Regards

Geo
