IE6 won't connect

I am experiencing a problem with IE6 and connecting to the internet. When I
start it up I get a message that "no connection to the Internet is currently
available". If I start up Outlook Express I can connect to the Internet and
can then use IE6. The problem started after I had installed Incredimail
although not immediately. I have uninstalled this but it made no difference
so I uninstalled IE6 SP1 and then reinstalled it but that made no
difference. I have also restored the system to a time before I installed
Incredimail but still no luck. I have a Recovery disk rather than an
original MS XP Home disk and so cannot remove and reinstall IE6 without
loading the whole disk (I think) which would require me to reinstall all the
software.

Anybody got any ideas?

Pete, See other posts - uninstall your Google toolbar and
it will work - appears to be a problem with last IE
security patch and google bar

Take Terry's advice. I had exactly the same problem and
removing the google toolbar cured it for me

Hi Terry,
I followed your advice and it worked, furthermore I've reinstalled
Google Toolbar and the problem hasn't returned - yet! I had been using the
toolbar for about 9 months previously without problem.
