IE6 and Java

Walter

Since reinstalling XP, my IE6 will not work with Java
pages such as Pogo games. I tried some of the answers in
other posts to no avail. I have Virtual Machine version
3810 installed. Also have Sun Java installed. I have
tried using both with IE but no luck.
I have tried Java test pages, results are Java working
fine.
Using Sun Java with Netscape 7.1, no problem.
It seems to me by the amount of posts that there is a
problem with this issue.
If anyone has the solution to this problem, I would love
to have it.
Thanks, Walter

Go to Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs. On
the left (where there is a "frame" of different options),
choose Set Program Access and Defaults. Take a look at
the defaults that are currently set. If you need to, you
can change any of these by selecting the Custom option
and arbitrating which virtual machine for Java will be
used by default.

I think I fixed my ever-lasting problem with Java this
way once, but I think I had to uninstall all versions of
Java to do it. Try the above first though. If you feel
you have to uninstall and reinstall your Java version, be
sure to delete all settings and temporary files saved
under that user name (in C:\Documents and Settings\(User
Name)\)!
