i recently lost my hard drive... i have all my files backed up on an
external so no big loss... right now, im "chasing ghosts" and tweaking my
settings... sometimes fun, sometimes frustrating.. today it is frustrating..

i use IE version 6.0.2900.XX... i also installed the Google task bar to help
with the pop ups and a handy search tool... when i type in a website address
like "yahoo.com" (sans the quotations) into the IE address bar and hit
ENTER, nothing happens... it wont try to find that address... if i type in
http://www.yahoo.com and hit enter it will seek out the site and connect
me... the only other way to go to a website is through the Google search box
and enter "yahoo.com"...

what gives?... is the Google task bar gumming up the works?... i had it on
my old system and it worked fine...

this is what i have tried:
IE-> TOOLS-> INTERNET OPTIONS-> ADVANCED and clicked the RESTORE DEFAULT..
then PROGRAMS and clicked RESTORE WEB SETTINGS... neither worked...

any advice??...

once again, thanks for putting up with me..........
