IE windows closes every time I open a new window

I'm running IE 6 on XP and have a problem with IE closing
the parent window every time I click on a link.

Looks like the max number of windows for IE6 is set to
one and thus I am only allowed to open one browser window.

Anybody know how I can change this back and allow to open
several windows?

Yahoo Companion is known to cause this. If installed remove it.

In IE.
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab under Browsing.
"Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
