Recent problem. I click on a text link on a website and IE
6 just hangs with the pointer icon showing for about 1
minute and finally returns. It doesn't go to the web page
associated with the link but when using iRider (another
browser) for the same page and same link it goes to the
website associated with the link. doesn't do it on all
links, just some. for the page I'm using it won't go every
time. the computer upstairs that has IE 6 follows the
links correctly. what the heck is going on?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
