IE will not open certain webpages

on certain pages, for example, Hollywoodvideo.com,I get
the message:
Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site
http://www.hollywoodvideo.com/
operation aborted

the webpage loads, but then that popup message is
presented. thanks

I recently started having the exact same problem. IE will load and open to the site's home page sometimes (other times it's fine) but if, for example I click on a link to another page on the site or try to log on to the site the message pops up. This happens on random sites. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this as it is VERY frustrating

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).

thanks for the advice. i previously loaded adaware and
spybot but the problem persists.

Then get help from this forum.

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.
