I posted an issue with regard to unwanted home page. I
have tried every method suggested and canot get rid fo it.

I have IE 6.0 and all the patches.

the default page I keep getting is as follows:
http://nkvd.us/1524/

I have tried to install a different web browser, different
downloads to rid my systems of this etc, and each time it
prevents me from doing that. This is not good. anyone have
any other suggestions. Where can I go from here when it
prevents any downloads.

Thanks

RJ,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That may allow IE to work.

You might also be able to browse and download programs from the address bar
of Windows Explorer.

Download and run Run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded from another
machine onto a floppy disk if necessary.
CWShredder should remove nkvd.us/1524/
If CWShredder (after download) tries to open but closes limmediately,
download this file http://www.safer-networking.org/files/delcwssk.zip and
run it.

Then download, install, *update* and run both of these programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red-others are
optional.)
Both programs should be updated after installation- before use.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
