IE SP1

I downloaded some Windows Update files, saving the IE
Service Pack 1 for last. After downloading the IE SP1 half
Meg file and waiting for the installation, I get a message
that a previous installation requires a reboot. After
several reboots I get the same message. Is there a way to
get by this.

Check WININIT.INI and see what might be causing this.

Windows version?

If IE6-SP1 is presented to you at Windows Update along with other updates,
IE6-SP1 must be installed first, before the others.
