IE so slow recently

I have an Athlon XP 2600 with 1 gig of ram and a 120 gb hard drive with cable
internet, recently IE has slowed down so much its crazy. I will open a box
and the box will open and process for like 10-15 secs. It has never been
slow like this before. I perform virusscans and spyware scans everynight
and have defragmented my hard drive and done disk cleanup. I am stumped any
tweaks or problems anyone knows about?
