IE shutting down

my problem is when i go to open the IE icon, it will start
to open & then all of a sudden it will be restarting my
computer. it will run through the illegal shutdwon screen
to scan for all errors.

Jeff,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." If that allows IE to run, then search for and remove
malware:

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html first. It's been
the most helpful with this problem. It may be the only cleanup program you
need this time. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded
from another machine onto a floppy disk.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
