IE only works in safe mode

I have a problem. I can open IE in normal mode but I can not acces any site.
I know the connexion is on because other software can work (skype) and if I
look at the connexion it's ok.
However, in safe mode it works ok!!

The parameters are all set to automatic (I have ADSL) just as before the
problem. I had downloaded a .asf file that opened and closed a DOS window. I
have also run Antivirus in safemode and it finds nothing.

Any ideias?? Thanks a lot!

Might well be some kind of redirector or malware in actions. I'd reccommend a
couple of things:

First download, update, and run "Spybot Search & Destroy" to check for some
common spyware that affects internet explorer.

Failing that, find, download and run "Hijackthis.exe" which will scan your
internet explorer and windows bootup settings allowing you see anything odd
that's been tampered with, and will give you the option of taking out
whatever the .asf put in.
