IE Not Responding!

Having successfully removed CoolWebSearch from my PC with the aid of Adware & Spybot I am now having difficulty accessing sites on the Net. I am able to log onto a site OK but when I want to use one of the links to another site/download a picture everything freezes. I get a message on the top of the screen saying "Microsoft..................Not Responding". A window then appears in the centre of the screen saying this programme is not responding and then gives me the option to End Now or Cancel!

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See if you still have some bad BHO in the background.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

When you get the error message can you click a details button and get the
error message.

Thanks for the advice but pardon my ignorance. What does BHO mean?

Snoopy,
BHO = Browser Helper Object.

Ad-aware & Spybot don't remove CWS as well as CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
Then update both programs and run Ad-aware & Spybot again.

If these programs seem to not remove all malware, use HijackThis to post a
log to one of the forums where HJT logs are analyzed.
