IE new window problem

When I try to right click-> open new window or even try opening another
instance via the start menu, a shortcut on the desktop or the quick launch
bar the original instance of IE closes down and only the new one remains.
Any ideas as to why this is happening and hwo to fix it would be greatly
appreciated.

This may be due to a malware BHO. First, scan the system for parasites and
remove them. SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
