How set to maximized when IE opens a new window?

In IE6, when I left-click on a hyperlink that specifically opens up the
page in a new window, or if I right-click and choose Open in New Window,
the new instance of IE always opens as a 'normal'-size window rather
than Maximized as I'd prefer. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

When I open IE myself the shortcut properties are set to open it
Maximized, and that's how I like it. But I don't know how to control
the window size when a hyperlink specifically opens a new window.

IE doesn't remember Maximized.

Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.
