IE launch time horrible after Windows Update

XP SP1 with all hot fixes (not willing to go to sp2 yet)

I updated a laptop today with all the latest hotfixes and after reboting, IE
6 would take forever to launch - 60 seconds or so. Entering a different url
and loading the new web page also takes much longer now (even allowing for
internet congestion).

Prior to doing Windows Update today, launch time for IE was fine - a couple
seconds at worst.

Firefox launches just fine on the same machine and responds quickly (I've
been doing a side-by-side comparision).

Any thoughts as to why IE 6 is taking so long to launch?

I would say it was a rogue add-on, I`m on SP2 here so I`m not sure if you
can do this but, is there an option in internet explorer under tools/manage
add-ons? If there is, select it and disable everything and see if that
helps.
