IE icon

Hi
anyone help please.

2 yr old comp running xp home.
Problem.......I had a IE icon on the taskbar lower left corner
(near start) and one IE icon on the desktop.

Now for some reason I have lost IE icon on the taskbar and have two
on the desktop,how do I get IE icon back on taskbar please ??.

I do-able please keep it simple as getting old in the head (and body ) :-(

Can I then delete one of the two icons on desktop ??.

click once on it, hold the left mouse button down and drag the icon
from the desktop to the taskbar..
