IE Icon and Connection Icons in SP2

M

Matt

Two problems.

One, the IE icon on my desktop is now a globe. When I
click on it, my internet properties window appears. HELP!

Two, when I sign on to my dsl service, the taskbar shows
the connection monitor icon in the taskbar. Now, after
SP2, I have another set of connection monitor icons with
a yellow exclamation point. It's a Local Area Connection
with the error message "limited or no connectivity."

HELP!

Matt,

For problem 1:

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}]
Export the contents to a REG file (right-click and choose Export)
Open the REG file with Notepad and post the contents here.

Okay. I reinstalled SP2 but like the first installation
it froze on restart. Now, I manually restarted the
machine and all is well. The first problem I reported is
gone but the second still exists.

HELP!
