IE Home Page Changing *****

Hi people, my home page keeps getting changed to a microsoft.com url and
then redirected to MSN.com, and often I get a "Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close" window immediately after.

I have run Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, CWShredder, SpyBot S&D and virus
checks....

..... will a system restore be my next option?

Hi,
Those are good programs but did you do a online virus
scan? as they can trick yours into thinking they arn't
there.

First go to Internet Explorer, internet options, internet properties, programs tab, and click on reset Web settings. Go back to the General Tab, and type in the address you want and save it.

Now if this occurs again, It might be spyware.

Run your virus scan to eliminate threats of viruses etc.

But then

You need to run Search and Destroy which can eliminate this spyware.
It is a free download and you need to be sure to update it frequently.

Choose to imunize after running it, and there is an option to block having your home page changed. But be aware that if you choose to stop allowing your home page to be changed and want to change that page personally in the future, you need to do it from the control panel, and not internet explorer. Or just uncheck the option in the future!
