IE hangs accessing Windows Update

Have an odd issue here. As I was attempting to install the recent release of
updates, I ran into a problem with one of my 2K sp4 servers. Initially, I
did a custom search to find all new updates for the server. Finding 10
critical updates, I seleted Install Updates and let it go. Came back a bit
later and it was at the "downloading latest updates" screen, but wasn't doing
anything. Didn't download, much less install, anything. I tried to cancel
it, but it was froze. I had to kill the IE service. Anyhow, I rebooted the
server and tried again. Now, I cannot get to Windows Update. As soon as I
do, it freezes IE. I can go to any other site any it works just fine. But
as soon as I try any variation of getting to Windows Updates, it hangs. It
never crashes out and does not give an error.

Any ideas?

I've checked the HOSTS/LMHOSTS files, IE security (sites), and have run
several virus/malware/spyware utilities and not found anything.

Please advise.

Are you running APC Powerchute by any chance?

Yes, it is running on that server.

If you are still running Powerchute Business Edition 6.x, make sure that you
upgrade to version 7.x. I had a similar problem with IE because I was
running version 6.x.
