IE freezes unless coookies are continously deleted.

Hi - I am running Win98se with IE 6.0 SP1 - Connected to broadband
through a modem/router. A particular site is causing problems
(ebay.co.uk)- After a few pages the browser stops/freezes - I can
temporarily fix this by deleting cookies & Temp Internet files. The
browser works for a few more pages then locks up again. All firewalls &
anti-virus s/ware have been disabled.

I have tried firefox & get a similar problem.

With a different connection method - an old modem - this problem
disapears - however I have a laptop which does not suffer this problem
whichever connection I use.

Any suggestions as this is driving me crazy.

The fact that the problem doesn't happen w/out the router is odd.
Otherwise, given the behavior you describe it sounds like a corrupt cache.
