IE fails to display common pages

After installign the latest version of IE and the
securtiy update for it i get the following error.

Internet Explorer cannot open the site
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=tenacious.
Operation aborted

I tried this on some of the simplest webpagesm, even a
simple search on yahoo and google and the an error box
appears and if i click ok the page fails to display and i
get the offline display.

I also get the same error when checking my hotmail and
yahoo accounts. As for now i've switched to netscape, as
almost every other website i visit gets this error.

any help on this matter is highly appreciated.

Operation aborted is caused by a parasite.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.
