I am using IE6 SP1 with Windows XP Home Edition.

I can get into Internet Explorer and be surfing the web
for a few minutes and then all of a sudden, I get kicked
out, back to my desktop. I also can be at a website and
then click on a link (doesn't matter whether within the
website or link to another) and it just hangs. I get an
hour glass and IE just sits there. I have to go to task
mgr and End Task. Task Mgr shows it as a Nonresponding
program. This just started happening in the past two weeks
or so. I am soooo frustrated!!

I downloaded IE6.0 SP1 from MSoft website on top of my 6.0
version and that didn't change things. I also tried
reloading the browser from my Master disk from the
manufacturer (Dell). Still no help. Suggestions or
thoughts of where to go to get help??

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
