IE Hangs Trying to Access History

IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519.

Symptom 1: When I press the down arror next to the address window to try to
access the address history, IE just gives the hour glass and hangs. Task
manager says that IE is not responding. I have to end the task from the task
manager.

Symptom 2: When I bring up IE and enter a valid address into the address
window and press the Enter key, IE does not take me to the page. However IE
does not hang as in Symptom 1 above. Moreover, if I then choose a site from
the Favorites dropdown, IE brings up the site from favorites without a
problem.

I have disabled all IE add-ins, but this does not fix the problem. Any
Ideas? Thanks and God bless.

Thank you Vincenzo. The Microsoft registry changes seemed to resolve the
issues. God bless.
