IE etc failing to open

When I try to open Internet Explorer I getting messages saying that there is
a problem with all the following programmes which also fail to open:Google;
dxdiagn.exe;wmpshell.exe;iexplore.exe;Java(TM) update checker. My Norton
Virus scans show no viruses.

Do you have Google Earth?
Try to uninstall it and then install it and read this article if it apply to
you:

Please if the above doesn't make sense to you as it doesn't to me write back
with more info about your OS version and Applications installed on it,
otherwise all will be a guess!.

Yes I have Google Earth - could that be the cause of my problems??!
I will try uninstalling it - I'm not that bothered about having it. Will
let you know if that resolves anything. Thanks for your help.
