IE Error

N

Nash

I get, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Then there are two buttons, Send Error Report or Don't
send. There is also a button to see whaat the error
report contains. In that it says,
Error sigature
AppName: iexplore.exe
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
offset: 00016b97
ModName: kernel32.dll

Then it goes on to tell you how it is going to report the
details.

I don't have the blaster worm

Any other ideas?

Thanks, Nash

Yes, did all the updates. Now my email takes forever to
come up to read and delete. If it is not one thing it is
another.

Ran scan and I am clean.

Check your system for "hijackware":

Dealing with Hijackware
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm#tshoot
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. HijackThis (http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip; [new
URL] ) is the preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both
identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

Thank you for your feedback.
I ran all these test and they say I am good to go.
No Hijackware.

Guess I will have to reformat.

Thanks, Nash

Thanks.

just did the HiJackThis and posted the log.

Check your system for "hijackware":

Dealing with Hijackware
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and
every use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't
catch everything. HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip; [new
URL] ) is the preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both
identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan.
From now on, do both daily.
