ie error when closing window everytime

running xp pro, and ie6. whenever i close a window i get the "ie has
encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvience"
and also shuts down any other open window on the task bar.

i ran adware to get rid of all spyware and have norton 360 running.
i also updated a microsoft script debugging .dll but that did not work
either.
i have this problem on another laptop running ie7 so i am wondering if i
installed something on both computers or the same spyware is causing the
problem.
