IE error message

xyz

I am using IE version:6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633. I
am getting error message very frequently these days and
the IE window closes. The message is: "Internet Explorer
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience." When I close the box
showing this message, another message pops-up which
says "An error has occured in Internet Explorer. Internet
Explorer will close. If you continue to experience
problems, please restart your computer".
I am using this version of IE which came with Windows XP
home edition, when I bought the computer.
Any help?
Many thanks in advance.

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
