When I try to get to most websites I get "IE has
encountered a problem and must shut down." then it lists
aout 50 >dll files. I have win 98 and they tell me it
can't be sasser. I hve tried fix and reinstall nothing
works. HELP

..... 50 >dll files

If possible, mention those DLL names. And, it's a good idea to run a spyware scan.

Download all of these utilities and scan the system.

Note: Spyware removers are rules-based and are updated very frequently as and when new malware is discovered. Therefore, update both of these tools before scanning, very important.

Try a repair (again?) using this command:

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

If not, it's a good idea to download the full package and reinstall it.
