IE Desktop Favorite

Firefox is my default browser, but I would like to create a desktop shortcut
to open up in Internet Explorer. My company email will only open properly
in IE, so my desktop shortcut is
https://www.company.emailserver.com/slmx2/mail/mailfile.nsf but it opens in
FF, then via an extension, it opens in IE. I would just like a desktop
shortcut to open directly in IE without changing the default browser from FF
to IE. Thanks for any advice.

There is a Firefox extension which tell FireFox to open a "page" in IE.
IE Tab or IE View.

You "could" use Netscape 8.1. It is supposed to switch between FireFox
or IE display "engine" automatically.
