Home Page Setting Changes Unexpectedly, or You Cannot Change your Home Page
Setting
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=320159

The problem may be due to:
1. A spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system
and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

( Caused by a malware called CoolWebSearch. Also, Download:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )

2. You have enabled SpyBot immunize (protection) feature or any other
similar software.

Everytime I change my homepage, it goes back to the
following default:
http://out.true-counter.%
63%6f%6d/%61/?%31%30%31

How do I get rid of this default and put in the
appropriate default?

WinGuides did the trick for me. Allowed me to uncheck the "Prevent changes to
IE Home Page."

Thanks!

I dowloaded Spyhunter, which removed some files, but I
still had the problem with my default not being fixed. I
set my homepage for the current setting. When I turned it
on, it was changed to the blank setting with the following
website on the blank setting:

http://globe-finder.com/

Now what else can I do? Spyhunter did not fix that.

Global-Finder (CoolWebSearch spyware). This is a trojan/spyware that hijacks
Internet Explorer start and search settings to one of several different web
sites

Download CoolWebSearch destroyer from here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

And download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and update it. It eliminates
for any other spyware, if present in the system.
