IE crashes when window is closed

Dan

If I have several IE windows open, sometimes when I close
one, I get the error message:
The instruction "0x0b41f45b" referenced memory
at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click OK to close the program.
Click CANCEL to debug the program.

If I click OK, IE closes instantly. If I click cancel,
IE freezes up for a few seconds, then closes. I don't
get the standard WinXP error reporting dialog box.

I'm not sure, but I think it only happens when I'm
closing windows which have PDFs in them.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Frank,

Thanks for the suggestions. I ran AdAware and SpyBot,
and did find some spyware (!), but after cleaning it, I
still have the same problem. I have reinstalled IE and
Acrobat, but that has not helped.

It definitely does seem to happen when I close a window
with a PDF in it.
